Before you select your next luxury vehicle, consider one man's story of the vehicle he chose, "At 10:27 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, my LS 460 was blindsided by an 18-ton truck traveling at 70 mph. It left no skid marks at the scene. The impact tore the entire front left-wheel assembly off my Lexus, sending it more than 250 yards away, and spun the vehicle into the truck, crushing the rear. Fortunately, the entire cabin was left intact and I walked away without a scratch. Shortly after, I called my Lexus dealer and said, ‘Naturally, I want the same car this time around.5" — Four Time Lexus Owner, Oklahoma

J.D. Power U.S. Vehicle Dependability StudySM
Since purchasing a new vehicle is a big decision, it only makes sense to consider the long-term dependability of the brand you're interested in. Sophisticated technology features and complex engineering may catch a potential buyer's eye, but vehicles which deliver a consistent level of reliability and performance ultimately earn a spot in the garage.
Annually, the J.D. Power U.S. Vehicle Dependability StudySM (VDS) analyzes the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100) during the past 12 months by original owners of three-year old vehicles1. For the 2024 VDS, original owners of 2021 model year vehicles were asked to report their experience. A lower score reflects higher quality, with the study covering 184 specific problems grouped into nine major vehicle categories.
Lexus has topped the competition in terms of dependability with a score of 135 PP100 in 2023. This is a full 55 problems per 100 vehicles lower than the industry average of 190 PP 100. Even though INFINITI has improved in recent years, they still finished with a score of 219 PP100, below Lexus in terms of vehicle dependability.
Consumer Choice Awards
Another key factor in making a luxury vehicle purchase is brand image. Brands that offer an excellent reputation for quality, deliver a top-tier dealership experience, and deliver class-leading resale values are more desirable to buyers. Each year, Kelley Blue Book announces the winners in their Consumer Choice Awards, formerly Brand Image Awards2. Over 12,000 in-market new-vehicle shoppers who do their research at KBB.com are polled for their insights and opinions on automotive brands.
In 2024, Lexus earned the prestigious honor of Most Trusted Luxury Brand in the Kelley Blue Book Consumer Choice Awards for the ninth consecutive year. Lexus remains at the top of the competition with numerous awards, accolades, and repeat buyers.
