About The Lexus UX Hybrid
People who want smaller vehicles that are also luxury vehicles have been almost completely ignored by much of the automotive industry for decades. Fortunately, there is the Lexus UX Hybrid – a city-sized crossover that manages to deliver both practicality and luxury in a compact package. Thanks to the hybrid drivetrain, the UX Hybrid gets excellent fuel economy and available all-wheel drive means that adverse weather conditions aren’t a problem. F-SPORT models bring an added design flair and additional performance features including unique drive modes. Exterior touches like 18-inch wheels and LED lighting set the UX Hybrid apart from the pack in terms of appearance. Inside, you’ll find luxury touches like a premium stereo, an available 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, and even an available head-up display. Most impressive of all, the Lexus UX Hybrid is a city-sized vehicle that’s just as comfortable on a long-distance trip.
What the Critics Say
“The Lexus UX is the most fuel-efficient luxury SUV on the market. It’s also the least expensive and boasts exceptional resale value. In short, the UX is kind to your wallet when you buy it, when you fill it up, and when you sell it.” – Kelley Blue Book
“The UX is nimble and maneuverable thanks to its small size, and it provides a surprisingly plush and quiet ride. The adaptive dampers available on the F Sport Handling model are a nice add-on, offering a range of adjustments to either soften or firm up the suspension depending on what kind of driving you’re doing.” – Car and Driver
What's New For 2025
For 2025, the compact Lexus UX Hybrid receives some noteworthy improvements when it comes to power and efficiency. Replacing the prior year’s 250h designation is the more powerful 196-horsepower 300h trim that also benefits from a larger lithium-ion battery pack. Additional new features offered on the 2025 UX Hybrid include a new Copper Crest exterior color, updated driver-assist technology, and a newly optional 12.3-inch touchscreen display.
Lexus UX Hybrid Features
Practical Utility
If you’re shopping for a crossover, utility is probably an important factor for you. For some people, that means seating for 8, but for others, it means a balance of cargo space and the ability to get in and out of tight parking spaces. With its 34.2-foot turning circle, the UX Hybrid is one of the most maneuverable vehicles you can buy, especially if you also need it to hold your groceries. The hybrid drivetrain is perfect for a city-sized vehicle, enabling it to provide better fuel economy in the city than similar-sized SUVs. For example, the UX Hybrid delivers 45 MPG city and 41 MPG highway**, all with a total system output of 196 horsepower which is better than almost all non-hybrid models in its segment. There are 60/40 split-folding back seats and an available hands-free power liftgate to make carrying cargo easy. Great for alleviating stress and tension after a long day of work, the seats of the UX Hybrid are surprisingly spacious. For those brutal Ohio winters, the UX Hybrid is available with all-wheel drive which is an option frequently left off the list for both hybrids and small vehicles.
Luxurious Interior
Lexus has managed to pack a lot of luxury into the UX Hybrid, making it an impressive standout in its segment. The eight-way power-adjustable seats are made from soft NuLuxe® upholstery and are available with heating and ventilation. The UX Hybrid comes with a Lexus six-speaker Premium Sound System and there is a 10-speaker version available. To control this, you get the Lexus Interface infotainment system which is operated by either an 8- or 12.3-inch touchscreen. Wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® integration come standard either way. Lexus has an unmatched safety record and the UX Hybrid comes with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 - a suite of driver aids and safety systems including Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Road Sign Assist, All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and Intelligent High Beams as standard equipment.
Sophisticated Design
The Lexus UX Hybrid brings real style and flair to the segment with design cues from bigger Lexus vehicles that look at least as good on the smaller UX Hybrid. It features all-LED external lighting including signature Lexus daytime running lights which are always a stylish touch. The 18-inch wheels fill the arches nicely and special F-SPORT wheels are standard with the F-SPORT trims. Also standard with those trims are touches like unique front and rear bumpers, a black roof, and black roof rails. Inside, you have a leather-trimmed steering wheel and shifter knob. If you opt for an F-SPORT Handling trim, you’ll receive a perforated leather-trimmed F-SPORT steering wheel and shift knob and F-SPORT bolstered front seats. There are other available interior touches as well including aluminum pedals and front aluminum door-sill scuff panels.
