About The Lexus TX

Lexus has decided to retire the popular RX-L and instead offer a totally new design that makes more room for three rows of seats. Introducing the dynamic TX, a three-row luxury SUV that not only offers seating for up to 7 but will actually fit adults in the third row of seats. This is one of, but not the only, big advantage the TX holds over the RX-L. The Lexus TX also offers three different drivetrain options including a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid. This kind of versatility and wide range of available options is where the TX shines. Tons of cargo space, even with the third row of seats in use, and an impressive towing capacity make it just as easy to haul cargo as it is to haul people. And it wouldn’t be a Lexus without an impressive list of standard luxury features like heated front seats, ambient lighting, multi-zone climate control, and the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 suite of safety and driver assistance technology.

What the Critics Say

"This is the first Lexus SUV that can comfortably carry adults in its third-row seat. In addition, the TX's cargo capacity is genuinely impressive. Fold down the second- and third-row seats and you'll have 97 cubic feet of space available, which is competitive with some full-size luxury SUVs. Last but not least, you can get a powerful hybrid drivetrain in the TX 500h or a plug-in hybrid powertrain in the TX 550h+. It took Lexus some time to get this recipe right, but the new TX is dressed and equipped to impress." - Edmunds

"It’s definitely the biggest Lexus ever, in terms of length and interior capacity, if not weight. While there have previously been three-row Lexus models, none have actually offered a third row that’s especially spacious or comfortable. The TX’s is not only that, it’s actually the most spacious and comfortable in the three-row luxury crossover segment. The TX also has the most cargo space behind that row, by quite a large margin, in fact." - Autoblog

What's New For 2026

While the TX is still a very new model, Lexus gave it a couple of tweaks for 2026. The first is for the TX 550h+, which now has a standard panoramic glass roof. The other addition is a new paint color, known as Matador Red Mica.

Lexus TX Features

Lexus TX Interior

Unrivaled Versatility

The Lexus TX is all about maximizing interior space, with 20.1 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third-row seats, 57.4 cubic feet of cargo space with the third row folded down, and a massive 97 cubic feet with both the second and third rows folded down. You get a choice for the second row of either a three-seat bench or two captain’s chairs and whichever configuration you go with, everyone will be able to plug into a charging port thanks to the 7 UBS-C ports around the cabin. There are even more choices when it comes to the drivetrain. The standard engine is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that makes 275 horsepower. That’s enough to make the TX plenty peppy but those wanting more power can have that engine mated to a hybrid system for a combined system horsepower of 366. The top-spec TX 550h+ Luxury comes with a plug-in hybrid system that produces 404 horsepower and can travel up to 33 miles on all-electric power. All-wheel drive comes standard with both of the hybrid systems and is optional with the conventional engine. F-SPORT models even get an innovative Adaptive Variable Suspension and four-wheel steering.

Lexus TX Interior

Uncompromising Luxury

Lexus doesn’t think that you should have to sacrifice comfort for more seating and the TX offers a refined ride and an exceptionally quiet cabin. Many of the standard features on the TX would be optional extras from other manufacturers as well including heated seats, wireless phone charging, and ambient lighting. The TX has a very large 14-inch Lexus Interface touchscreen and a customizable 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. This makes it easy to see all the information you need and simplifies how you operate things like navigation and the radio. If you need more, there is an available head-up display so you don’t have to take your eyes off the road at all. Standard 20-inch wheels (or available 22-inch wheels) give the TX some extra stylish flair outside and the inside has a more open and airy feel thanks to an available panoramic glass roof. Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility come standard and audio enthusiasts are sure to be impressed by the available Mark Levinson 21-speaker PurePlay Surround Sound.

Lexus TX

Advanced Safety

Safety is always one of the more important features of a family vehicle and Lexus is absolutely an industry leader in this field. The TX comes with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, a highly advanced suite of active safety technologies. This includes things like blind spot monitoring and a rear cross-traffic alert. And the TX doesn’t stop keeping you safe once you’ve parked, a Digital Latch with Safe Exit Assist keeps back seat occupants from simply flinging open the door and jumping out if there is traffic approaching. There is an available front cross-traffic alert as well for those difficult-to-see-around corners. Another innovative feature that adds convenience, the available traffic jam assist will help cut down on driver fatigue. The available head-up display keeps you from having to take your eyes off the road and all-wheel drive lets you stay in control even in brutal winter conditions.
